Scope

The following are within the scope of this Data Exchange Specification (DEX):

Identification of the specific activity or group of activities being reported on, by reference or title.
Identification of person or organisation undertaking activity.
Identification of person reporting (may include rank, role and organisation represented, etc).
Report of full or partial completion of activity/activities may be expressed as a percentage. (Note: Individual activities may be only partially complete, if only some of the target assets were worked on.) For work packages, this may need to be broken down by trade (i.e. electrical, mechanical, etc.).
Reports of activities being undertaken, to include such factors as: assessments of amount of work completed; expected completion date; any work that will remain outstanding; additional resources required; etc.
Subjective assessment of when follow-on activities may be required e.g. a surveyor may extend or reduce the period to next inspection depending on the material state of the asset inspected.
Measurements or values obtained during the activity.
Achievement or otherwise of Acceptance Criteria for activity.
Description of any discrepancies found during the course of the activity. This could be formatted data e.g. numbers of people and standard skill levels required to complete the activity. As a minimum, the following areas should be covered:
- Activity title
- Cross references to other activities
- Document references, inc Drawings
- Spares
- Tools
- Periodicity of activity
- Time to complete activity
- Skill levels to complete activity related to time required for activity
- Equipment identified for maintenance, inc serial no if relevant
- Detailed instructions
Assessment of quality of management/conduct of activity.
Recommendations/plans/intentions for completion of outstanding work(?).
Documentation or reference to documentation associated with the activity; e.g. certification of product fit-for-use.
Security classification of included information.
Information of Work Requirements and Work Orders to which the Activity relates.
The deferment of activities.
For activities performed on assets:
- Information that identifies the asset, either by the original manufacturers identifier, or by an alias identifier that is defined by another organization, such as the owning, operating, asset management or maintenance organization of the asset.
- Information that relates the asset to the part information that defines the asset.
- Information that relates the asset to its NATO stock number, if that part is codified.
- Information that defines the parent - child relationships between an asset and its components.
- The physical properties of the asset, including incremental change to them.
- Configuration changes e.g. replacement of serialised items, implementation of modifications or role changes.
- Changes of operational state of the product (following survey).
