task Business Information Overview

The Task Data Exchange Set provides the specification for the transfer of all maintenance and resources required to maintain the product in focus.

Task specification information is summarized in Figure 10 below.

Product in Focus

The product in scope and its component assemblies and parts. Can be either a part, or an element in a logical breakdown structure of a defined end item. This is normally defined by an End Item Acronym Code.

Task triggers

A task trigger describes the conditions which may cause a task to be executed. The Reliability and Failure Modes Data Exchange Set is a source for task triggers.

Task

A maintenance task is a defined maintenance procedure that is to be performed on a defined product.

Subtask

A task specification may be subdivided into individual subtasks that provide a narrative description of the work to be performed.

A task may require a set of resources in order to execute the task. Required resources may include:
