For the purposes of this specification, the following terms apply:
Item (Item)
An Item is a physical tangible individual product that can be uniquely identified.
Item Acquisition (Acquisition)
The set of data relating to the agreement under which the item was procured or acquired. This can include contract,
acquisition cost,
acceptance information and related organizations.
Item Mark (Mark)
A Mark can be a physical label attached to an individual item e.g. a sticker, a data plate. Or it can be virtual, i.e.,
it is specified but not yet produced and attached onto the item.
Item Unique Identification (IUID)
The Unique Identifier that ensures uniqueness of an item.
Unique Item Identifier (UII)
Set of data elements marked on an item that is globally unique and unambiguous.
