Scope

The following are within the scope of this Data Exchange Specification (DEX):

• The identification of the document.
• The security classification of the document.
• The version of the document.
• The physical location of the document if in hard copy.
• The URL of the document if available online.
• The status of the document, for example ‘Draft’, ‘In Review’, or ‘Released’.
• The author of the document.
• The validity period of the document.
• A description of the content of the document or an indication of to what it relates.
• The owner of the document.
• The category / class of the document.
• The name of the document.
• The document media filename, format, id and location.
• Relationships to related document.
• The organization that releases the document.

The following are outside the scope of this Data Exchange Specification (DEX):

• The relationship of the document to any other information object within the scope of through life support. These types of relationships will be exchanged within the DEXs that exchange that related information.
