Scope

The following are within the scope of this Data Exchange Specification (DEX):

• Definition of the structure of a cost breakdown.
• Identification of the PSE elements for which the support cost breakdown has been derived, including all the assumptions, requirements, and constraints from which the SC and SSD were derived. (The “CDAL” or “Cost Data and Assumptions List” – a subset of the “MDAL” or “Master Data and Assumptions List”).
• Identification of the analysis that defined the support cost breakdown.
• Identification of the support cost breakdown.
• Identification of each predicted support cost type within the support cost breakdown.
• Specification of the time at which, or the period during which, the cost is expected.
• The predicted value of each cost item, when it will be incurred.
• Reference to the corresponding actual costs and when they are incurred.
• Budget allocation: “CDEL”, “RDEL”, or “IRDEL” (“Capital Defence Expenditure Limit”, “direct Resource Defence Expenditure Limit”, and “Indirect Resource Defence Expenditure Limit”).
• Period covered by the support cost breakdown.
• Context of the support cost breakdown. (annual budget, initial investment appraisal, etc).

The following are outside the scope of this Data Exchange Specification (DEX):

• Finance allocation.
• The collection of raw data regarding in-service costs that have actually been incurred. (see Support Cost Feedback DEX).
