product_information Business Information Overview

This DEX is used to exchange product information elements that define the composition and structure of a product in terms of its function, system, physical item and zonal breakdowns; its assembly structure; its configuration items; the baselining and change management of all product information; the occurrences of these elements in the form of realized (actual) products, together with their operational state, configuration and concessions; associated properties, documentation and status information.

This composition is illustrated as overview in the following diagram. The detailed object relationships are shown in the Business Informatio Requirements section of this DEX.

The objects shown in green form many of the inter-relationships between the Data Exchange Specifications (shown in blue). These relationship objects are defined within this Product Information DEX which is responsible for integtrating the individual Data Exchange Specifications shown.
