product_information Business Overview

The business requirements for this DEX are to be able to exchange product information which is generated during Design and Manufacture processes, with the associated Product Support processes.

A typical requirement is to be able to extract from a CAD or PDM system, sufficient product information that can be used to populate maintenance systems to enable maintenance analysis, planning and scheduling processes to be performed.

The DEX has been defined so that it is applicable to many types of projects and products that have business requirements to exchange product information.
