Scope

The following are within the scope of this Data Exchange Specification (DEX):

• The information that identifies a product assembly structure
• The information that identifies a position in the product assembly structure
• The information that identifies the type of product assembly structure
• The information that identifies the parent of a node in the product assembly structure
• The information that identifies the children of a node in the product assembly structure
• The information that identifies the quantities of child nodes within product assembly structure
• The information that characterizes the elements of a product assembly structure
• The information that characterizes the relationships between the elements of a product assembly structure
• The information that characterizes additional identifiers for the elements of a product assembly structure
• The information that characterizes the descriptors of elements in a product assembly structure
• The information that characterizes the documents associated with the elements of a product assembly structure
• The information that characterizes the properties associated with elements of a product assembly structure
• The information that characterizes the approval of product assembly structure and their elements
• The information that defines the permissible configurations of a product assembly structure.

The following are outside the scope of this Data Exchange Specification (DEX):

• The information that relates elements of a ProductAssemblyStructure with elements of breakdowns
• The information that relates elements of a ProductAssemblyStructure with an actual manufactured part
• The information that defines the requirements for the ProductAssemblyStructure.
