obsolescence_management Business Information Overview

The two main usage contexts of this DEX are reporting on:

Obsolescence Management Feedback.
The Obsolescence Register.

The information exchange requirements (IERs) of this data exchange specification are based around the following main topics:

Obsolescence Management Feedback - Information representing feedback that originates from obsolescence management activities.
Obsolescence Issue - Information representing a record of an item or service that might become obsolete. The information object also records the corresponding obsolescence mitigation action.
Obsolescence Register - Information representing a collection of all the Obsolescence Issues being managed.
Obsolescence Impact - Information representing the impact of an Obsolescence Issue on the related PSE constituent and the related obsolescence mitigation plan.

It is considered that generally obsolescent items that are at the Platform, System or Equipment (PSE) level will also be inventory items and the DEX is constructed to reflect this. It is likely that this type of report will be raised by supply chain managers or support personnel and will be transmitted to IPT/Inventory Managers.
