Item_of_supply_information Business Information Requirements
This section contains a detailed description of the business level information
requirements.
These information requirements are divided into the following four main categories:
- Identifications;
- Classificatons (categorizations);
- Properties;
- Descriptions.
An item of supply within the Swedish Defence may have one or more identifiers. The
following information is related to the identification of an item of supply:
- Swedish Defence Item of Supply Identification Code (se-mil:
Förrådsbeteckning)

The item of supply identification code, assigned by the Swedish Defence.
The syntax for a "Swedish Defence Item of Supply Identification Code" is an
'F' or 'M' followed by 4 plus 6 digits.

The Swedish Defence item of supply identification code is mandatory for
all items of supply within the Swedish Defence.

structure. Each is represented by a 13- digit number, which can be divided
into 3 unique parts:
- The first four digits constitutes the NATO Supply Classification (NSC)
code;
- The next two digits defines the National Codification Bureau (NCB) that
assigned the NSN;
- The final seven digits are assigned sequentially and have no inherent
significance.

The "NATO Supply Classification Code" (NSC) constitutes the first
four digits in the NATO Stock Number (NSN). The first two digits of
the NSC are defined as the NATO Supply Group (NSG).

supply using standard naming conventions to ensure uniformity among users.
