Item_of_supply_information Business Overview

The "Item of Supply Information" business DEX supports the exchange of items of supply master data within the Swedish Defence.

FREJ is the current master application for identification, registration, storage and distribution of item of supply master data within the Swedish Defence. There is a number of subscribing applications to which the master data is distibuted, based on entry and update transactions.

An item of supply within the Swedish Defence may be; whole equipments, parts, documents, pharmaceuticals, ammunition, packing etc. Each item of supply may have multiple:

Identifications;
Classificatons (categorizations);
Properties;
Descriptions.

NOTE Different types of items of supply have different sets of mandatory attributes (i.e. identifications, classifications, properties and descriptions). These rules are not described in this DEX, but are part of the PDR data entry application for FREJ.

Add a section with a reference to ECCMA as being a standard within the domain of dealing with Items of Supply, NATO classifications etc.
