Description

This template describes how to represent an organization that is identified by a Unit Identification Number (UIN).

organizational_unit

The definition of an organizational_unit object is: This information object is an organization that is identified by a Unit Identification Number (UIN). Units have a base location.

Base location This is a reference to the the base location of the unit. Relationship to Location Mandatory
Non standard location This is a reference to a non-standard location for the business unit. Examples include temporary locations for deployed military units. Relationship to Organizational Unit Non Standard Location Mandatory
UIN This is the Unit Identification Number for the organizational unit. This identifier uniquely identifies the organizational unit for accounting purposes. A unit may have more than one unit identifcation numbers. Identifier Mandatory (1:?)
Identifier.id This is the value of the id attribute of the UIN Identifier applied to the organizational unit. intrinsic Mandatory
Identifier.type This attribute is the type associated with the id of the UIN Identifier given to the organizational unit. uin_id_code Mandatory
Identifier.source_organization This attribute is the value representing the source organization that provides the id of the UIN Identifier given to the organizational unit. This value is assumed to be a type of Organization_identification_code. Organization_identification_code Mandatory

This is the relationship to Location.
non_standard_location (Type= 'SELECT (location_assignment_select)' )
This is the relationship to the non standard location.
Reference parameters
The following reference parameters are defined for this template:
organization(Type='ENTITY (Organization)')
Allow the Organization entity instantiated in this path to be referenced when this template is used.
Note: The Organization entity can be referenced in a template path by:

where target is the parameter to which the Organization is bound.
org_asst(Type='ENTITY (Organization_or_person_in_organization_assignment)')
Allow the Organization_or_person_in_organization_assignment entity instantiated in this path to be referenced when this template is used.
Note: The Organization_or_person_in_organization_assignment entity can be referenced in a template path by:

where target is the parameter to which the Organization_or_person_in_organization_assignment is bound.
location_asst(Type='ENTITY (Location_assignment)')

Characterizations
No common characterizations of the template organizational_unit have been identified. However, the ISO 10303-239 EXPRESS model may enable other assignments to the entities instantiated by the template.
