Breakdown element

The constituents of the main product according to a defined breakdown type.

Physical breakdown

A breakdown of the main product into its physical constituents. For example, an aircraft wing might be described as comprising an upper surface and a lower surface.

Zone breakdown

A breakdown of the main product according to the location of the constituent parts. The main product is divided into zones, which in turn are broken down into blocks, which in turn are broken down into modules.
