This section specifies the template representing_functional_breakdown.

NOTE  The template has been defined in the context of the capability representing_breakdown_structure which provides an overall description of the relevant parts of the ISO 10303-239 information model and a description of related templates.

NOTE  An explanation of a template and the associated instantiation path is provided in the Template overview section.

Description

This template describes how to represent functional decomposition.

Model diagrams
The EXPRESS-G diagram in Figure 1 shows the templates and EXPRESS entities that are required to represent the template "representing_functional_breakdown". The text highlighted in blue shows the template parameters.
Templates within grey areas and templates with dashed outlines are not included in the template, but may be used to further characterize the template.

Input parameters
The following input parameters are defined for this template:
id (Type='STRING')
The identifier of the Functional_breakdown.
id_class_name (Default=Breakdown_name,Type='CLASS')
The name of the class used to classify the identification (Identification_assignment) of the functional breakdown. This provides the role or reason for the identification.
The following classes and their sub-classes can be used:
classifications: "Breakdown_identification_code" (urn:plcs:rdl:std:Breakdown_identification_code), "Breakdown_name" (urn:plcs:rdl:std:Breakdown_name)
id_ecl_id (Default=urn:plcs:rdl:std,Type='URN')
The identifier of the External_class_library storing the definition of the class referenced by the parameter @id_class_name class.
id_owner (Type='STRING')
The name or identifier of the organization that is responsible for naming or idenfying the functional breakdown.
id_owner_class_name (Default=Organization_name,Type='CLASS')
The name of the class used to classify the identification of the organization. For example, the organization might be identified using a CAGE code or using a name.
The following classes and their sub-classes can be used:
classifications: "Organization_identification_code" (urn:plcs:rdl:std:Organization_identification_code), "Organization_name" (urn:plcs:rdl:std:Organization_name)
id_owner_ecl_id (Default=urn:plcs:rdl:std,Type='URN')
The id of the External_class_library storing the @id_owner_class_name class
bkdn_type (Type='CLASS')
The name of the class used to classify the Functional_breakdown.

The product that is described in terms of its functional component.
Reference parameters
The following reference parameters are defined for this template:
fnct_bkdn(Type='ENTITY (Functional_breakdown)')
Allow the Functional_breakdown entity instantiated in this path to be referenced when this template is used.
Note: The Functional_breakdown entity can be referenced in a template path by:

where target is the parameter to which the Functional_breakdown is bound.
fnct_bkdn_vn(Type='ENTITY (Functional_breakdown_version)')

Uniqueness constraints

The following parameter combinations specify a uniqueness constraint:
Unique constraint: External id class for Functional_breakdown
Each instance of the entity (Functional_breakdown) within the data set shall be uniquely identified by a combination of the following parameters on this template (representing_functional_breakdown) namely: id, id_class_name, id_ecl_id, id_owner, id_owner_class_name, id_owner_ecl_id.
The instance is referenced by the following template parameter: fnct_bkdn.
Unique constraint: External id class for Functional_breakdown_version
Each instance of the entity (Functional_breakdown_version) within the data set shall be uniquely identified by a combination of the following parameters on this template (representing_functional_breakdown) namely: vn_id, vn_id_class_name, vn_id_ecl_id, vn_id_owner, vn_id_owner_class_name, vn_id_owner_ecl_id.

Characterizations
The following section details how the representing_functional_breakdown template can be optionally characterized by assigning other constructs to it.
