This section specifies the template assigning_zone.

NOTE The template has been defined in the context of the capability representing_breakdown_structure which provides an overall description of the relevant parts of the ISO 10303-239 information model and a description of related templates.

Description

This template describes how to represent an association the between an item and a the zone its in.

Model diagrams

The EXPRESS-G diagram in Figure 1 shows the templates and EXPRESS entities that are required to represent the template "assigning_zone". The text highlighted in blue shows the template parameters.

Input parameters

The following input parameters are defined for this template:

zone (Type= 'ENTITY (Zone_element_definition)' )

The zone (Zone_element_definition) to which the @item is related.

item (Type= 'SELECT (in_zone_item)' )

The entity which relates to the @zone.

Reference parameters

The following reference parameters are defined for this template:

in_zone(Type='ENTITY (In_zone)')

Allow the In_zone entity instantiated in this path to be referenced when this template is used.

Note: The In_zone entity can be referenced in a template path by:

%^target = $assigning_zone.in_zone%

where target is the parameter to which the In_zone is bound.

Instantiation path

The instantiation path shown below specifies the entities that are to be instantiated by the template.

NOTE The input parameter zone = '#48' refers to the Zone_element_definition entity instantiated in the template representing_zone_element.

Characterizations

No common characterizations of the template assigning_zone have been identified. However, the ISO 10303-239 EXPRESS model may enable other assignments to the entities instantiated by the template.
