Capability (C045):— representing_product_as_individual | Date: 2009/08/05 21:08:21 Revision: 1.27 |
This capability describes how an individual product is represented where an individual product is an existing or potential future artefact whose properties can only be known by observation or by derivation from observations.
EXAMPLE The front wheel on your car is an individual product.
EXAMPLE The computer with the serial number "PN X0467-71281" is an individual product.
EXAMPLE The plane, with tail number "GXY 8910", ordered by "Air 3000" that is just about to be manufactured is an individual product.
It is likely, but not essential, that the artefact was or will be made from a version of a product design.
NOTE The design of a product is described in C002: representing_parts (for early design phases, see also C004: representing_breakdown_structure).
