Introduction

This capability describes how a series of changing values for the same property can be documented.

For example, the operating temperature is a property of an engine that changes over time.

This capability does not address:

associating properties to the objects they describe (this is addressed by capabilities C076: assigning_product_properties), C077: assigning_process_properties), and C078: assigning_resource_properties);
the details of representing various kinds of property values properties (this is addressed by capabilities C079: representing_properties_numerically), C080: representing_properties_textually), and C084: representing_property_value_ranges);
the definition of state or observation of state (these capabilities are addressed by C041: representing_state_observed and C007: representing_state_type).
Although states may be distinguished by their properties for the purpose of classification, it is the values that vary that are the subject of this capability.
The activities that may cause the change of values or that take note of them. These are subject of numerous capabilities including C032: representing_activity, C015: representing_task, and C062: representing_scheme.
time_interval_effectivity. This is considered to be a semantically different concept, not to be assigned to property, representations, or values.
qualified_property_value_representation. Association with a time of measurement, computation, or interval of validity, is not considered a qualification of the value.
