A property is the definition of a special quality and may reflect physics or arbitrary, user defined measurements.

The purpose of the "Assigning Properties to Documents" capability is to describe how properties are assigned to documents and files - e.g.

assigning properties to hardcopy documents (weight, page length, word length, physical size etc.)
assigning properties to electronic documents (format, file-size, etc.)

The purpose of this capability is to show how the properties are assigned. To give those properties values, the capabilities C079: representing_properties_numerically and C080: representing_properties_textually should be used.
