For the purposes of this specification, the following terms apply:
Configuration Edition
A baselined version of a specific product configuration in ILS-DB, corresponding to a configuration baseline in Teamcenter™.
Configuration Item
A conceptual product (or system, or function), whose constituents or realizations may differ between product variants.
A configuration item have revisions (versions) and must be managed and tracked in product design and maintenance alike.
It may be of a functional nature, or represent a system, or conceptual equipment.
Configuration Item Baseline
A collection of specific revisions of Configuration Item Nodes and their realized Parts,
that together represent a meaningful whole.
With the approval of a baseline a development task at Saab is completed and its result is ready for being communicated to
others.
Also called Configuration Item Node Baseline.
Configuration Item Node
A representation of a Configuration Item in Saab's PDM-system.
A leaf Configuration Item Node is classified as a "Realized CIN", and is always realized as at least one Part (assembly or
component).
Configuration Item Node Structure
A hierarchical structure of Configuration Item Nodes (CIN). This structure is often referred to as a CIN-structure, and sometimes
as a configuration item structure.
Maintenance Action
A representation of a task in ILS-DB.
A Maintenance Action defines the task (including subtasks), required_resources and an estimated duration.
Maintenance Object
A representation of an object that requires maintenance.
A Maintenance Object (MO) is either a type of product, such as a Part or specific Equipment, or a conceptual item, such as
a function, system, or physical item.
MOs exists in the Saab system ILS-DB, and corresponds to Configuration Item Nodes and Equipments in Saab's PDM-system.
In PLCS, Maintenance Objects could be represented as a Breakdown Element, or as in this DEX, as a Scheme.
