  Definition: (1) One of a quantity of items.

(2) Identifier of measure

NOTE    Examples of (1):

unit identifier
  Definition: Alphanumeric identifier.

NOTE    Note 1: A unit identifier is used to designate the specific unit of the part, or assembly, and to differentiate it from all other units of that part, or assembly, with the same design.

Note 2: Unit identifier uses the first definition of unit - "one of a quantity of items".

  Definition: A specific type or mode of operation of an product instance which is significant in usage terms.
