A "business context" is a context in which a specialized vocabulary is employed. This may be an individual organization, a larger business community, or a particular project (or initiative).

A number of DEXs (Business DEXs) are identified within a given business context and each DEX is defined using the specialized vocabulary of its business context. These are listed in Business DEXs section.

Business context description

Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) describes processes that provide product support throughout the life cycle of the product. LSA is a tool that provides maintainability, operability, and reliability during the product life cycle. LSA defines resources necessary for these processes. LSA can optimize the processes and thereby optimize the costs.

LSA contains a subset of the entire product data and defines only data that has logistics purposes.

The Logistics Support Analysis DEXs have been divided into logical sections as the data are frequently purchased by these sections.
